Job Opening

Program and Commercial Producer:

Join the interesting world of broadcasting at KATL Radio in Miles City.  We have a job opening for an individual to fill the role of Program and Commercial Producer.  The job includes but not specific to the writing, voicing and producing programs and commercials to air on KATL radio.  The qualifications include good writing and reading ability.  Applicant must be able to read script out loud with a pleasing and understandable voice.  Applicant must have the ability to work with computers and learn computer programs associated with broadcasting and program and commercial production.  Applicant must be able to learn to use programming equipment to include a mixing board, microphone, and computer.  Recording and editing of recorded sound material is part of the job.  Need to have a high school diploma or equivalency.  The position is a part time position with some fringe benefits available.  Compensation is depended on qualifications and experience, starting at $10.00 per hour.  Work days would be four to five hours a day, five days a week and could be at different times a day or different days of the week to meet the work load. The purpose of the EEO Public File Report is to comply with Section 73.2090 ( c) (6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule.  This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is KATL Radio and is required to be place in the public inspection files of the above listed station and posted on its website.
The information contained in this Report covers the time period form beginning December first 2014 to and including November 30, 2015.

KATL radio currently employees just four employees.  We are currently in search of replacement employees  We are looking for news and production personnel.  Positions are part time positions and require a high school diploma or equivalency.

Section III—Supplemental (non-vacancy specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken by KATL.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM spent time answering job related questions on a panel for graduating seniors at local High School Level.

Star Printing  Company DBA KATL-AM made presentations to local service and civic groups in Miles City and Surrounding area about the benefits of working at a radio station.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM works with local and state internship programs.  Interns have been brought in to assist the on-air staff and to learn general aspects of broadcasting.  The station conducts informational and education tours and classes for grade, middle, and high school students interested in communications.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM participates in college scholarship programs with the Montana Broadcasters Association with monetary donations and help in selecting those to receive scholarships for broadcast related schooling.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM provides tours of the station facilities to any group or organization requesting one (i.e. The Girl Scouts, The Boy Scouts, 4-H Clubs, Grade Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools, and other clubs and Organizations.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM works with local job fairs sponsored by local employment units in Custer County.  Help them set up the job fairs and advertise the activity.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM management is involved with a broad cross-section of community groups.  Such as civic groups/churches: including Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis club, Rotary, Key Club, and 4-H groups.

Star Printing Company DBA KATL-AM management reviews company policies and current EEO laws to see that everything is in compliance.
